摘要

Fastest lossless compression chip to date. A parallel architecture was investigated as a means to overcome the classic limitation of compressing one symbol per clock cycle resulting in the X-MatchPROvw lossless data compressor. The main problem was that the strong correlation that exists among the symbols that are processed in parallel is lost and this affects the compression ratio. A number of techniques were developed to tackle this limitation that resulted in 4 patents prepared and granted together with our commercial partner BTG. Today, X-Matchprovw is an open-source project available as part of the www.opencores.org initiative.
